Japan is the land of inventions and patents, and yet I have not seen any of the following 2 items which I think will have a strong demand (and very happy parents):
A Dummy Body
Notice how mums have to sleep with their babies so that baby can sleep? That can be quite frustrating for mum as she may rather want to use that time to do laundry, have a cup of tea or blog!
In Japan, there is the dummy hand so that a girl/guy can feel like she is sleeping on her/his BF/GF's hand, even though the BF/GF is far away.
Why not bring it up 1 level and the baby thinks that that is mum snoring beside here when it is actually the dummy body! I think it will work. I sometimes use a bolster to trick my little one. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. So with technology, the right density can be created and voila - happy faces all around!
I think there will be a lot of grateful mums out there for this invention.
Angel monitor for the Car
We all know that babies fall asleep in the cars. Movies show frustrated parents who can't get their baby to sleep go for a drive at 3am just to have little Emily slumbering.
But what happens when you reach home? As you lift the baby out of the car, the baby will wake up and all that effort is gone. Gone!
If there is an baby monitor for the car, parents can leave little Emily in the car, go into the house, and have some free time for doing whatever do want/need to to - like cleaning up the mess in the house made by Emily! All with peace of mind as the monitor is on, they can hear when Emily wakes up and can then rush out to bring her back in to the house.
(Of course one should never leave the baby in a car on hot days or unsafe places, without the car doors locked)
And if one of you inventors out there takes up my ideas, don't forget my royalties!!
