Heard of it?
It is a great photo-depositing site. I have been wondering these past few months where to store backup copies of my digital photos. I have lots of photos, many very precious photos of Kai and Taiga. I know, buy one of those extra hard-disk thingeys. Sounds fine, but what if there is a major earthquake and the wall crashes on my computer/ that hard disk? (Touch wood!!!) What if there is a fire and my house razes to the ground? (Touching wood again!!!)
Then I met SmugMug 2 weeks ago. I have been using their free trial for the past 2 weeks and am a very happy camper. Am definitely continuing with this and will sign up and give them my credit card details soon.
Their website is very easy to use. Photos upload very fast. It does not freeze my computers as some other websites do and I have been uploading thousands of photos these past 2 weeks. Photos are very easy to organise. You can also choose which photo album look you want for a particular set of photos. And best of all, for each photo, they store 4 backup photos in 3 different States in the US. Did I also mention unlimited storage?
They charge, but it is minimal and very affordable.
It is different from sites like Flickr which is more of a networking photo site.
Anyway, if you are keen to check it out, click SmugMug.
There are many comparison reviews of SmugMug vs Flickr over the internet. Check it out if you are interested.
If you decide to go with SmugMug, here is a coupon code that will get you a discount of US$5 when you sign up : 1kVW3YbB5iXlU
Just for disclosure, I will get a US$10 discount when I renew my account if you use this code.
